Double barreled shotguns, whether side-by-side (SxS) or over-and-under (O/U) are becoming more and more popular with the intelligentsia of the shooting community. There are a number of very good reasons why, but we won't go into that now, except for one – that is, it is obvious to everyone when a break-action shotgun is unloaded and safe, and it is much easier to make a break-action safe than it is a pump or auto. Ever felt like something is watching you out in the woods?

Admit it on the way to the deer stand in the early morning or heading back to your vehicle you sometimes get chills up and down your spine.

I snapped a photo of one of these watchers hidden in the tall grass, eyes focused with great intensity.

Maybe those chills are justified after all...

I just recently had a birthday, and if you forgot to get me anything it’s not too late. I wear a large and like guns, I’m not picky on caliber but don’t have a .17 HMR right now (hint hint). I won’t tell you my age but will just point out that I’m just as close to 20 as I am 50 and let you do the math.
